First picknick of the year

Last weekend we were surprised by the most amazing weather so far this year. We took this opportunity to launch our little boat "Medium Dry" again and find ourselves an unspoiled spot in the Biesbosch. And unspoiled the trip was. We met hardly anybody on this picknick trip and the little sandy beach under the sun on a little island was like heaven. It was a nice day to remember my aunt and uncle who are both together in a happy place again as my uncle died last week. Ome Pieter and Tante Lenie, thanks for being a part of our life. We love you deerly.

Biesbosch National Park in the fog

Last week I had to go to the Biesbosch National Park, about an hour drive from where we live, to prepare a sereis of trainings for the Fuji firebrigade. I experienced an unexpected weather twist being very dense fog. I come here for more than 30 years and never ever I experienced such a bad visibility. I actualy had to use chart, compas and GPS to navigate around this labyrinth of waterways and little islands. However, it did give me a great opportunity to shoot some rare photo's. I posted them in a new album on our Webshots page. You can view the slideshow by clicking the link under "photo albums". I hope you enjoy them.
